Private Personal Training (1 client)
This is the most common form of training that we offer; it is the one that gives our clients the most flexibility when it comes to booking appointments and the one that gives you the greatest amount of one-on-one coaching and accountability. When it is just you, there is no hiding and no excuses. We guarantee if you follow your Personal Training program, you will see results.
The majority of our Private Training sessions are 25 min in duration. During this time, one of our Trainers will walk you through an exercise program that has been specifically designed for you. As you progress over the weeks your program will change as you master certain movements and intensity levels. Most clients will also need to commit to a few days of traditional cardiovascular activity in the studio.
The major focus of our training sessions is a combination of conditioning and mobility work. The conditioning work will make sure you are burning calories, improving strength and endurance and trimming inches. The mobility work is focused on making sure you are moving optimally; by helping you move better we will help you improve your overall health, decrease aches and pains and ultimately improve your performance. We will help you achieve things you didn’t think you were capable of!
Semi-Private Personal Training (2-4 clients)
This type of Training is a great way to do Personal Training while saving money compared to Private Personal Training. Due to the small size of the group, individuals still get a reasonable amount of attention and direction from a Personal Trainer.
Many of our clients prefer this type of training due to the social aspects and camaraderie that is built amongst each of the members of the group. It is normally up to the client to find group members that are interested in this type of training but on occasion we may be able to assist in this process.
Group Personal Training (5-15 clients)
We have various Group Personal Training options available, ranging from boot camp to various types of weight-loss groups that are normally geared more towards beginners.
The larger group size means there will not be as much individual attention but it’s a trade-off for greater savings financially.
General Membership
We have a small number of clients that choose to exercise entirely on their own. Due to the smaller size of our facility we are limited in the number of people we can allow to do this. If you are a regular exerciser and someone that values a smaller, more intimate and comfortable atmosphere (compared to a big gym) then give us a call.
Getting Started
- If you are considering getting started with us here are the steps you should follow:
- Contact the studio via phone (519-253-9400), email (mike@refinefitness.ca) or the free consultation links on our web site and make an appointment with the Owner, Mike Bates.
- At your first visit, Mike will meet with you to discuss your goals, exercise history and any relevant medical or health issues you might have. With this information he will suggest a program that is best suited for you. The most important question you will be asked during this meeting is how motivated you are to get started on a scale of 1-10, with a 10 being the highest. If you are anything less than a 9, we will find out what it will take to get you to a 9 or 10. In our experience, we know you will encounter many obstacles and difficulties if you are not truly motivated from the get-go.
- Once you decide to join, your first appointment in the studio as a member will be a formal assessment with a Trainer. This assessment is the most important part of the process because this is where we will complete a thorough analysis of any additional information not covered in your first visit, including your background and current health and fitness levels. From there we will develop an action plan to help you accomplish your goals and revisit these goals on an ongoing basis to ensure that you are making progress towards achieving your goals.
- Your next appointment will be a regular Personal Training session. Most sessions will be booked recurring at the same time and days based on your schedule; this is the preferred scheduling method. Alternatively, you make book your sessions on a weekly basis if your schedule does not allow you to book recurring appointments.
- Our goal at the end of your first two Personal Training sessions is that you walk away feeling like you could easily accomplish more. If you have more soreness than should be expected this may be a sign that your previous workout was too difficult; your Trainer will adjust your future workouts accordingly.
- During your initial 3 months you will follow a comprehensive exercise and nutrition program that has been structured to give you the best results based on your individual goals.
